(Consult this for additional background information)
Posted prior to March, 2014:

  1. Removal of trees and pruning has begun in the Orange and Shelton pilot projects.  Pruning and removal in the pilot project in Hamden, within the public right-of-way, has been put on hold, but work planners (contractors) are seeking approvals for pruning and removal on private land and in the public right-of-way, and are reported to be removing trees on private land with property owner consent.  UI has met with Bridgeport's mayor, and it is possible that planners have or will start contacting property owners in Bridgeport for the pilot project there.  We do not know if the tree warden has issued permits for the work.

  2. Filings in PURA docket, by Northeast Utilities (CL&P) and UI in response to public concerns:     Click to read CL&P letter and UI request for technical meeting, open to customers and municipalities.
  3. Click to read letter filed January 27 by the Connecticut Fund for the Environment and URI's position on United Illuminating's Tree Trimming and Removal Plan.
